The camera shows the front of Karaoke Crown. Inside, Kamekichi looks at Motoki. Motoki smiles at him. Suddenly he spots Usagi peeking around the corner. He hurriedly grabs a small mirror and checks his hair. Then he turns and smiles. "Welcome!"
Usagi looks around worriedly. "He's not here today, is he?" she asks.
"Who?" replies Motoki, still smiling.
"Chiba . . . Mamoru . . ." Usagi says hesitantly.
"Ah," Motoki says, his smile fading. "I only asked him to take over temporarily." He looks down at the counter.
Usagi brightens up immediately. "Oh, thank goodness!" She reaches into her bag.
"Did you guys have a fight or something?" Motoki asks.
"No, but he always says stuff that bugs me."
Motoki chuckles. "He's got a bad mouth, but he's a good guy."
"Hmmm," Usagi mumbles.
"Oh, did you hear?" Motoki asks suddenly. "Aino Minako was hospitalized." Usagi gasps in horror.
In the karaoke room, Rei, Ami, and Mako are sitting around the table looking at Luna. Ami asks, "Luna, that important talk about the Princess and the Senshi . . . was that about the Moon world?"
"Right, it's a story from long ago," Luna explains. "The memories of the Moon senshi are within you guys."
"That seems hard to believe," Mako says.
"You'll remember someday," Luna assures her. "Just keep going as you are now. Keep searching for the Princess and the Mystical Silver Crystal, and protecting the Earth from its enemies." Rei, Mako, and Ami nod.
Suddenly the door bursts open and Usagi comes banging down the stairs. "Hey, hey, did you hear? Aino Minako was in a traffic accident!"
"Why are you saying that now?" Mako asks, annoyed.
"Probably because she doesn't watch the news or read newspapers," Rei replies.
Usagi looks at them, surprised. "You all knew? I'm so worried, she's hospitalized!"
"But," Ami says to reassure her. "I heard that she only received superficial wounds."
"Yeah, but what about the new song release meeting?" Usagi cries. "Oh, I wish I could visit her!"
"Fans like her would make hospitals disappear," Rei says to Ami and Mako, rolling her eyes.
"I just want to cheer her up and wish her well!" Usagi says defensively. She turns and looks into space. "I wonder if Minako's okay . . ."
The scene cuts to Minato-ku Juban Hospital. There are a bunch of presents stacked up against a wall. Minako sits despondently on a bed. "Here, we got this from the car's trunk," a man says, placing a small suitcase on the bed. "We finally got it out. And we didn't look at your confidential belongings."
He turns. "Thanks," Minako says to him.
Flashback: A truck careens toward Minako. She turns and gasps, frozen in shock.
"The guy in the accident was in a trance from the music," the man says to her. "The cops were also really shocked. You were only a hair away from being hit."
Another man walks in, dressed in a business suit and wearing sunglasses. "We'll put it in a commercial," he says to the man.
"Manager," the first man says in greeting.
The manager ignores him. "The copy . . . 'Got out by a single hair'. . ." he says dramatically. Then he laughs. "I'm just kidding!"
"Manager," Minako says. "Can I leave the hospital?" The manager's smile drops and he glances at her. "You call it a wound, but it's only a scratch," Minako continues.
"No way," Manager states. "Minako. You've been disappearing a lot lately." Minako gasps slightly. He sits on her bed. "If you're indiscriminate, the press will try to take weird photos of you." Minako looks at the floor. "The release of the new song is coming up, so for now, just be good and stay here." He stands up. "You have MUCH work to do, after all." Manager pulls out a small, black book. "For the new Christmas song release pageant, we need a new Nako-Nako design . . . by morning. After that, a television phone interview . . . and a sign present for your home page diary." After each sentence, he places something on her side table. "You'll have to write a lot, are you up to it?" Without waiting for an answer, he continues, "And then . . . rest . . ."
Minako smiles and nods. "I'll be okay."
"Okay!" Manager says, smiling big, doing the little 'okay' hand symbol. He then turns and taps the first man, who is just standing there. "Amachachi. Help me with the new song release meeting."
"Yes sir," he replies and follows Manager out the door. Minako's smile fades and she picks up the small suitcase. She unzips and opens it. Inside, we see the Sailor V costume neatly folded with the mask on top. The costume fades and we the first appearance of Sailor V (from Act 1).
Suddenly a male voice penetrates her thoughts. "Minako, the real trouble begins here. You must fight. You cannot afford to lose. Also . . . you must do it alone."
"It's all right," Minako says. "Ever since I became a singer I've been alone. It was my own decision to become Sailor V." She looks up. "Princess too . . ."
Zoicite is slowly playing the piano. "Sailor V is alive . . .?" he says. "Looks like it." He taps a few more keys. " 'A Requiem for the Princess'. . . It should have been perfect though." After another moment of silence, he says, "Well, whatever. I have other interesting tricks left." With that, he begins to play the piano with his usual vigor. Elsewhere, Nephrite and Queen Beryl hear his playing. Beryl looks at Nephrite. "Zoicite is acting again?" she questions.
"Sailor V. She's the most likely one to be the Princess," Nephrite mutters. He steps forward. "Beryl-sama, I want to go after the Princess too."
"You as well?" she asks.
Nephrite explains. "Not being able to find the Mystical Silver Crystal even after all this searching might mean that it is with the Princess."
"But if so, wouldn't she have sealed us already?" Beryl counters.
"Yes," Nephrite allows. "But maybe the Princess isn't able to use it yet."
Beryl looks at him with sudden understanding. "Of course . . ." she says to herself. Turning back to Nephrite, she says, "Very well. Act to your hearts content."
"Yes ma'am!" Nephrite bows and turns away.
Beryl looks toward the sound of Zoicite's playing. "Zoicite . . . he's gifted but . . . he doesn't attend to my love . . . it worries me . . ."
The scene changes to Mamoru's room, where we see him laying in bed (fully clothed). A voice echoes in his mind. The Mystical Silver Crystal . . . The Mystical Silver Crystal . . . A shadowy figure of a woman appears. She folds her hands in a pleading gesture. Please . . . Mamoru's eyes suddenly open and he sits up. "Again?" he mutters, reaching for a drink. "That . . . Who is that?" He clutches his head in pain and places the water back on the desk. The camera pans around and we see that Usagi's handkerchief is sitting on top of the desk. Slowly the scene fades.
The screen flickers to life again and we see Usagi staring straight at the camera, holding a remote. The view changes and we see Usagi flipping through various channels. "Usagi! Quit changing it!" Shingo exclaims.
"Yeah," Ikuko-mama agrees. "It's making me dizzy."
"But there might be something about Minako," Usagi says stoutly.
"She's hospitalized in Juban Hospital," Ikuko-mama informs her.
Usagi jumps up. "How do you know?!"
Ikuko shakes her finger and laughs. "Papa is a reporter! And he stumbled on that information! But . . . you can't go, because it's a secret."
"I know," Usagi nods. She looks around. "On an unrelated note," she starts innocently, "Juban Hospital is near the South Juban station right?"
"Yes, I guess . . ." Ikuko says. Usagi nods and rushes out the door. "Hey, Usagi!" Ikuko-mama calls.
"That was naïve of you," Shingo states obviously.
In the karaoke room, Rei looks up in shock. "A visit to Aino Minako?"
Usagi nods. "I said that, but I meant just see the hospital."
Luna looks at her annoyed. "Usagi-chan! Today we're looking for Sailor V, who might be the Princess!"
"That's why . . . it's only for a short while!" Usagi explains. Luna huffs and turns away.
Mako, however, nods and repeats, "Aino Minako, eh?"
"Makoto!" Rei exclaims. "You're not planning to go, are you?"
"Well, I'll worry if Usagi goes by herself," Mako says with a smile. Behind her, Usagi nods.
"Man! What are you thinking?! Where is your soldier mentality?" Rei asks harshly.
"I know," Usagi says. "But please understand! Mako-chan, let's go!" She hands Makoto's jacket to her and the two hurry to the door.
"Hey! Usagi! Makoto!" Rei calls after them.
"Sorry, we'll be right back!" Makoto says.
"Sorry!" Usagi apologizes without stopping.
"Man!" Rei exclaims.
"But, I'm glad to see Usagi back to normal," Ami comments.
"She's acting TOO much like herself," Rei replies, sitting down. Ami just smiles.
Usagi and Makoto stand in front of the hospital. "Is this it?" Usagi asks.
"It's so large, we wouldn't know where to start," Makoto mentions.
Usagi clasps her hands together. "Minako, I hope you get better soon!" The two of them look at the building again. Eventually, Usagi says, "Maybe we could go inside and look a little more?"
"I suppose . . . since we're here," Mako replies.
Once inside, Usagi looks around. "Minako's in here!" she exclaims in awe. Makoto quickly shushes her. Usagi looks down sheepishly. She whispers, "I can't believe we're in the same building as her!"
The two see a map with a list of locations. "So the sickrooms are from the eighth floor up," Mako comments. They turn away and we next see them disguised as nurses. They step on an escalator. "Going this far is overdoing it!"
"Mako-chan, you're doing it too!" Usagi defends.
"It's because Usagi wanted me to."
"Mako-chan, you were the one who wanted to go," Usagi says, tapping her arm.
Mako bumps her back. "It was you, Usagi."
The two start a bump war. "It was you, Mako."
"Usagi."
"Mako-chan!"
In the karaoke room, Rei looks over a series of papers. Ami scrolls down a list of websites. She clicks on one. A website announcing a planetary festival shows up. The names Moon, Mars, Mercury, and Jupiter are listed in Japanese form. In the middle of the screen a blinking phrase announces: Guest is V! Ami calls Rei and Luna over. Luna reads it over. "Guest is . . . . V!?"
Ami translates, "In English this would be: Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter."
"You mean us?" Rei asks. "So . . . V is . . . Sailor V?" Ami nods.
Luna looks at them. "This is too far-fetched to be a coincidence."
Ami looks back at the screen. "The meeting is today. We should check it out." Luna and Rei nod and look at the blinking V again.
Minako sits in front of a computer, adding and removing a Santa-type beard to a Nako-Nako figure. Her manager sits on a couch, painting his nails with clear polish. A shadow appears behind the blinds on her window. "Minako," a voice says. "Hurry, we must go."
Minako nods and stands up. She puts a billed cap on her head to try and hide her face. As she steps to the door, her manager says, "Minako, don't let the other patients know it's you."
"I'll be okay," she replies, pulling the cap even lower.
Elsewhere, Ami and Rei walk toward a door that has a poster for the planetary festival. They look at each other and walk in. "It's here, right?" Ami asks. "But it seems like no one is around."
"Be careful," warns Rei. "I have a bad feeling about this."
Minako's manager blows on his nails. He holds them up in front of a rather large stuffed bear. "Here, Bear-kun, blow. Blow." He looks over at Minako's bed. Then he glances again. He stands up (holding his nails out carefully) and looks under it. "Where are her shoes?" Suddenly his eyes widen. "Oh, no!"
Minako walks down a hall, keeping her head low. She passes Usagi and Makoto, who are back in regular form. Usagi glances at her. "Huh? That girl . . ."
Suddenly, Manager comes around the corner. "Minako!" he calls. "Minako!"
"I was right?" Usagi exclaims. Then her eyes narrow in suspicion.
"Who is that guy?" Mako asks.
"Maybe a youma!" Usagi cries. "Minako's in danger!"
Minako hurries down a set of stairs, when a familiar voice cries out. "Aaah!" She turns and climbs back up the stairs. "Manager?" She looks around the corner and is shocked to see Usagi and Makoto holding him by each of his arms. "What do you want with Minako?" Usagi demands.
Sailor Moon? Why? Minako thinks.
Usagi suddenly spots her. "Aino Minako!" Immediately everyone in the vicinity turns to look.
A man hurries in, pushing people aside. "Sensei! Sensei!" he calls. "Manager! Minako-chan!"
"Suyo-chan, do something!" the manager shouts.
"Yes, sir!" He begins moving people around. "Excuse me! Excuse me!" He snatches Minako and Manager, inadvertently grabbing Usagi and Makoto as well. "Please move! Excuse me! Minako should be hospitalized, please leave us!" People press in even further, trying to reach Minako. "Please! Please!" Suyo shoves Minako, Usagi, Makoto, and the manager into the room, and then closes and blocks the door.
Inside, Manager collapses on a chair. Usagi and Mako sit down on a couch. "Man . . . they'll be looking for us for a while now," Manager sighs.
"Wow, what a lot of trouble," Usagi comments.
"It IS a lot of trouble," he agrees. Suddenly, he realizes who they are. "What are you guys doing here too?!"
They both stand up and bow. "I'm sorry," Makoto apologizes. "We were pushed in with the crowd. Looks like we made a mistake . . ." Manager throws his head back and moans. The two apologize again.
Minako stares off towards the door. I can't get out now.she thinks. Why did you appear now? She looks at them and sees Usagi staring at her. Does she realize that I'm Sailor V? Impressive.
Usagi appears to be trying to say something. "S-Sign this please!" she bursts out. Minako looks at her in confusion. Usagi rummages through her purse and brings out a notebook filled with pictures of Minako. "Please! I'm such a big fan! I bought all your CDs! I'm also 14 years old! I can't wait for your new song!" Usagi starts bouncing around the room repeating, "Ah, what'll I do?!" Everyone stares at her. Eventually Mako rushes forward and forces her to hold still.
"Usagi! This is a hospital after all!" she admonishes.
"But.but." Usagi cries.
"You're being rude!"
Usagi looks down. Manager stands up. "Right, right, right, right! Sign it and send her home, okay?" he says, handing Usagi's book to Minako.
"Um.please make it out to Usagi-chan!" Usagi then proceeds to spell it out.
The manager rolls his eyes, then spots Mako holding a pen and paper as well. "You too?" Mako nods. "Well, you're pretty prepared aren't you?"
She merely hands the paper forward. "Please make it out to Makoto." Manager rolls his eyes again.
Usagi is bursting with happiness at gaining Minako's signature. "I'm definitely, definitely going to your new song release meeting!"
"Don't you have something more important to do?" Minako questions.
"Nope, not at all!" Usagi shakes her head. "Before the Princess, before Sailor V, is Aino Minako, who is #1!" Mako bumps her arm trying to get her to be quiet. Minako just looks at her sadly. She hands Mako's paper back to her. Usagi takes her hand and shakes it, very enthusiastically.
Manager quickly steps in. "Right! Thank goodness," he says, herding them toward the door. "Let's go now." At that moment, both Usagi and Mako's cell phones ring. Usagi struggles to find hers, eventually dumping the contents of her bag on the floor. She apologizes, and hurries to pick everything up.
Mako finishes her phone conversation. "Usagi, that was Ami-chan." She turns to Manager and Minako. "Sorry for the interruption!"
"Wait!" Usagi cries. Manager picks her purse off the floor and all but shoves it into her arms.
"Usagi, hurry!"
Manager pushes Usagi out the door. She waves frantically to Minako. "Good luck!"
Once everyone is out, the voice talks to Minako again. "What a surprise! I never thought that Sailor Moon would show up here."
"And saying 'Good luck' too." Minako muses. "It's almost like she has nothing to do with the battle against the Dark Kingdom."
"She just hasn't fully awakened," the voice says. Minako looks down at the floor, where we see Usagi's autograph notebook, which she apparently left behind. She picks it up and looks at the pictures on the front. They are all pics from Karaoke Crown, taken with her friends. Minako gives half smile. "So, Minako, we should hurry to the Planetary Festival place." Minako responds by sitting on the bed. "Minako?"
"That girl is Sailor Moon." Minako says in disbelief.
Usagi and Makoto are at the same place where Rei and Ami went earlier. "Ah, it's like a dream! I can't believe I met Aino Minako!" Usagi reflects dreamily.
Mako, however, is wondering at the absence of Ami and Rei. "How weird, they told us to meet here. Rei! Ami-chan!" she calls out.
"Maybe they're mad that we saw Aino Minako while they were searching for Sailor V?" Usagi offers. Mako shrugs.
Suddenly a flash of blue and red flies by. Sailor Mars and Sailor Mercury stand and face Usagi and Makoto. The senshi swing at them, but they dodge. Mars and Mercury move around them. "What are you doing?" Mako demands.
"Ami-chan! Rei-chan!" Usagi cries.
Mars jumps at Usagi. She gasps and ducks. "I knew you were mad! I'm sorry!!"
Mercury kicks and swings at Mako. "Is this for real?" Mako wonders. "Ami-chan, stop it!" She merely advances.
Mars moves threateningly closer. "Rei-chan!" Usagi begs.
Behind Mars, we see Luna tied to a rock. She manages to yank a gag from her mouth. Coughing, she cries, "Be careful! Mars and Mercury are being manipulated! We were lured into a trap!"
"Usagi!" Mako yells. "We have to transform! Jupiter Power, Make-Up!"
"Moon Prism Power! Make-Up!"
Jupiter and Moon face off against Mars and Mercury. Mars and Mercury circle around each other. They do a cartwheel, with Mercury repeating it about 5 times. Mars suddenly flips past her and jumps and Jupiter and Moon. They spin out of the way just in time. Without hesitation, Mars jumps back up and flies at Moon, who ducks. Mercury jumps over Jupiter. Without saying anything, Mercury brings her hands together in her 'Aqua Beam' attack. Jupiter jumps to one side. Mars does the same to Moon with her attack. Moon barely hurls herself out of the way in time.
Zoicite plays his piano in the Dark Kingdom. "The remaining two fall into my hands." he intones.
Moon and Jupiter are on the floor next to each other. "I can't fight with Ami-chan!" Moon cries. Mercury and Mars slowly walk towards them, their faces expressionless. Zoicite's music plays in the background. Suddenly he appears in the room, playing a piano that is in it. Moon and Jupiter gasp. He whips his head around to look at them. "What are you trying to do!" Jupiter yells.
Zoicite strides towards them. "Please open your minds for me too." Mercury and Mars move behind him. He raises his hand toward Jupiter. It flashes purple. The air around her lights up briefly with purple and her eyes glow the same color. The colors all fade and she drops her defensive position.
Moon's eyes widen. "Mako-chan?"
Jupiter goes and stands with Mars and Mercury, her face now expressionless as well. Zoicite gestures toward the girls behind him. "The Princess, Sailor V's life.you guys are going to take it for me.don't you think that is interesting?"
Sailor Moon gasps. "No!"
Luna continues her struggle to free herself. "He know that the Princess is probably Sailor V!"
Zoicite ignores her and raises his hand, looking at it. Jupiter moves behind Moon and holds her tight. "Mako-chan!" Moon cries.
Zoicite's hand extends toward her. Moon desperately struggles to get free. His hand glows purple. Suddenly it is grabbed by Tuxedo Kamen. He yanks Zoicite around. The two stare at each other. "Who are you?!" Zoicite asks. The camera whips around them and suddenly the purple from Zoicite's hand glows brighter.
A memory appears. A man wearing a suit and cape kneels before a Princess. The Mystical Silver Crystal.she intones. Please. The man in the cape rises and two stand next to each other.
Zoicite's eyes squint as he sees this. Tuxedo Kamen stares. Suddenly the purple light explodes and sends the two men flying across the room.
Tuxedo lands hard close to Moon. "Tuxedo Kamen!" she cries.
He sits up and stares in Moon's direction. "She's the Princess."
"Eh? You mean Sailor V?" she questions.
Zoicite pulls himself up slowly. "What was that?!" Tuxedo just stares. "Who are you?" Without waiting for a response, Zoicite stands. With a wave of his cape, he teleports away.
Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter immediately collapse. "Mako-chan!" Moon cries, running to her side.
Mercury opens her eyes and sits up. "I."
Mars gets up as well. "What on earth?"
"Everyone!" Moon exclaims. "Are you all okay?"
"Yeah," replies Jupiter.
Mercury rubs her head, but nods an affirmative with Mars.
Tuxedo struggles to his feet and begins to move away, still wide-eyed. "Wait!" Moon cries. He looks back. "Tuxedo Kamen," she says, worried. He turns and stumbles away, clutching his head in pain.
Luna finally gets the last of the ropes off of herself. "Tuxedo Kamen and that enemy, what happened between them?" she wonders.
Zoicite sits at his piano, but pulls his hands back, unable to play. "I." The man in the memory flashes briefly. ".know that man." Tuxedo Kamen flashes.
Sailor V's mask is thrown onto the bed. Minako plops down. "Minako!" the voice chastises. "Why didn't you go? You're the Princess!"
"I understand," Minako replies, "but why is that girl Sailor Moon?" She looks at Usagi's notebook.
Manager walks around a corner and snaps Minako's schedule book closed. A youma appears behind him. It swings a hand and Manager stops short. His eyes drift closed. The youma quickly assimilates itself into him. His eyes snap open and he turns with a menacing smirk. He walks forward, with flashes of the youma appearing during his first few steps.
Minako continues staring at the notebook.
